I made this out of a Bauer portable band saw and some ratchet extensions. It goes from a 2 1/2 inch stroke all the way up to a 9 inch stroke and its variable speed.

to last2know : years ago I made an attachment for a KitchAide mixer, great speed, but not much for distance, I like your design as the throw distance can be changed,
